I am so excited to finally be able to share the official cover for Fathoms Below with everyone! For those of you who missed out on the Cover Reveal and Q&A event Saturday, you can view it for yourselves below!
Well, that's it! Thanks so much again to everyone who came to this event today and supported me in my writing endeavors! Self-publishing isn't for the faint of heart, since you have to be both author and agent for your book. But I know that with enough hard-work, a lot of homework, and even more faith in God, my books will be successful. I hope to see you all at my book signing next month, so keep checking back on my author page for updates on that! And of course, I hope that you all enjoy reading Fathoms Below, and the rest of the Star Crossed series, when they come out as much as I enjoyed writing it!
Books have always been a big part of my life, thanks to the love of reading that my granny, Faith Holt, instilled in me at an early age. This love was then nurtured by my parents, Benjy Holt and Cathy Holt, my childhood librarian Dot Baker (may she rest in peace), and shared by my sisters, Brittany Rose Sinyard and Amber Nicole Holt. (I can't list all my friends who share my love of books. That would take too long, but they know who they are. Thanks for all the loaners over the years, guys!) So it came as no surprise that they also play a big part in the books that I write, like the one on the cover below. Still, like I said, no spoilers, so you will all have to read Fathoms Below for yourself to find out what that book on the cover is, and why it's so important to Cather.
There it is! The back cover for Fathoms Below! All that's missing is my author photo, which I will be taking next weekend with Katie Jo Cravey of Photography by KTJO, and the book's barcode and ISBN number. Both of those have been ordered and are on their way to my house, so as soon as I receive them I will post them on my author page.
Two more minutes until you get to see the official back cover for Fathoms Below! This book is set in Hawkinsville, so no spoilers, but locals reading it will most likely recognize many familiar places in the pages. Why Hawkinsville? One, because it's where I grew up, so it's where my heart is. Two, because there always seems to be a bit of mystery surrounding small towns. Sure, everyone knows everyone, but outsides aren't privy to their secrets, making you wonder what they may or may not be hiding. Kind of like Hermes, who's mysterious appearance in town, and his odd behavior, intrigues Cather until she will stop at nothing to uncover his secrets, even though the truth might change her world forever.
Just to give everyone a little bit more information on what's happening with Fathoms Below: right now it is in the last stages of the third and final editing process. Once I receive the file back from my editor, H. Danielle Crabtree, who is the most amazing editor on the face of the planet, I will make those changes to the book. At that time, it will be ready for publication.
Cather Stevens doesn’t love. Not now, not ever. She has spent her entire life watching love ruin her mother, her aunts, her cousins, her grandmother, and she made a vow a long time ago that she would never let that happen to her. But when she meets a winged boy named Hermes who tells her that she is the key to ending the star crossed curse that has plagued the women in her family for centuries, she will have to redefine everything she knows about love, life, and herself. With...
Welcome, everyone, to the Cover Reveal for my upcoming novel, Fathoms Below! The Q&A is now open, so anyone who would like to login and ask me a question is welcome to do so any time during the next hour. For now, I'm going to go ahead and kick off the event with the text that will be on the front and back covers of the book to give you all a little bit better idea what Fathoms Below is about. Hope you enjoy!
